Angelo James, born and raised in Columbus Ohio, began his relationship with music early on and was influenced by many. At the age of four years old started singing in preschool. The relationship continued through much time spent with his cousins and other close family members who introduced him to the genre, rhythm and blues (R&B) which would become one of his favorites. As a result, he came to love artists like Boys to Men, Monica, Brandy, 702, Xscape, Dru-Hill. Meanwhile, his father and peers exposed him to another of his favorite genres, pop music. He came to know and appreciate artists like Michael Jackson, The Backstreet Boys, Christina Aguilera, and many others. Later on down the line, his mother hipped him to oldies like the Ohio Players, the Temptations, the O jays, and Patti Labelle. By the age of 14, James decided he wanted to one day be apart of the entertainment industry. His shy personality however, caused him to find doubt, he had the package but did not know to present it properly. Although he had several experiences with performing through church and school choirs, James felt he might lack what is commonly phrased as the “it” factor. By the time he was in high school he decided to take a rest and only sing with the people they gave him support. At the age of 19 James decided to make a slight change to his given name to create the stage name Anjello. He soon after began a journey to perfect his craft and began privates lessons which resulted in a comfort with his voice with which he began developing his signature sound. Anjello’s wide range and nice, smooth sound bring the HEAT to table. Reminiscent of the 90’s, Anjello‘s music inspires reflection on a wonderful time in music, blended with his own flavor and unique style. Check him out and let me know what you think.
