Rise and Grind today is June 16th, 2010, I want to give a big Happy Birthday shout-out to one of hip hops late and grate pioneers 2pac Shakur. Happy Birthday!!! we miss you and your music will forever live on. He would have been 39 today. This weekend is the 20th annuel Juneteenth Festival, Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, is an American holiday honoring African American Heritage.It commemorates the announcement of the abolition of slavery in the U.S. State of Texas in 1865. Celebrated on June 19, the term is a portmanteau of June and nineteenth, and is recognized as a state holiday in 36 states of the United States. It will be held at Franklin Park Conservatory 1777 E. Broad St. Columbus Oh 43203.

Go out and take part of history, their is food, fun, and games for the whole family. Special guest Ginuwine and Ray-J will be in attendence June 19th 2010 for the juneteenthohio 20th anniversary concert held at veterans memorial 300. w.
